Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint or draw most weekdays and often finish a painting a day. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.

"Hawk Sunset" Landscape Daily Painting

Original oil painting 8"x10"
Landscape/Abstract/Still Life of blue car hood with turquoise, blue, green and pink reflections of the landscape beyond.

Contact to purchase.

I wonder if others are as fascinated by reflections as I am? I was especially delighted one evening to discover how lovely the evening light looked on the hood of my vintage car. The long smooth curves of the Hawk's front end gave me an opportunity to work on the abstracted patterns. And it was fun to be able to put my Studebaker in a painting!

I cant hardly believe that this is a painting, .... how nice the color and scape's flow over the hood. But most of all how great it is to notice it and paint it.

Great stuff.

Thanks Rene! Noticing the beautiful and unusual around us is part of why artists paint, don't you think? It's satisfying when others connect with that.

Indeed painting what grabs us is one of the benefits of being an artist. This hits the spot for that rule. Terrific image all around. Bravo.
