I wanted to keep this painting light and loose, and show the afternoon light in the park by the Sandpoint City Beach.
Although we aren't having the kind of hot weather my friends and family are down south, we do get some days where it's warm enough to lie around in the sun in bathing suits. Evenings you'll need a sweater, though.

Great landscape with figures! I like how minimal the landscape is. Keeps the focus on the figures. Very interesting.
Thanks Silvi. It was a fun challenge to not get too fussy with it.
Really strong, Diana.
Nice of you to say so, Mary. I hope to do more of these simple figure studies soon.
Great sense of the moment in this. I like the warm/cool light combinations, and simplicity of design.
Don, thank you. I'm glad to read the comments and know others think this works. Even as simple as this painting is, there were some problems I had to deal with.
I really like this painting.
Interesting to me how much response this little piece has gotten. It's had a high number of hits on DailyPainter, so I guess a lot of folks are enjoying seeing it.
