Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint most weekdays and hope you enjoy these small daily works. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.

No High Heels for me for Awhile

Yesterday I broke my ankle. My bike bucked me off and I landed wrong. I have an appointment with the orthopedist this afternoon, and probably surgery today.

So... looks like no high heels for me anytime soon. Maybe no paintings either for awhile. I'll get back here in a few days with an update if I'm not too doped up. Thank you for your prayers.

Ouch!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry for you, that must have been a very nasty shock, and very painful, to you and your bike.

Heal fast!

Thank you all for kind thoughts and esp. prayers. I'm supposed to be prone most of the time to reduce sweling so the doc can operate.

JJ, the bike is fine, I think. It will be awhile before I can test it, though.

I will pray real hard but I think we should share the drugs.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts.

Bill thanks for the laughs. Can I share my pain with you too?

The drugs are a two-edged sword. I hear I'll have to wait a few days for surgery, so it's nice to be able to forget about the pain with the drugs. Addiction is not an attractive prospect, however and I really dislike the drug's side-effects.

Surgery Diana! wow...so sorry you have to go through the pain of all this. Hopefully there are some UP sides to having more reclined time...Always lessons to be gained.
Best of luck with speedy recovery though.

Thanks, Candy. I'm catching up on my beauty sleep I guess. I've been way behind on this.

So sorry this happened, Diana. Be well soon.

Thanks, Don. I'm taking life easy right now. I was able to get my show packed up and mailed to Oklahoma that opens May 9, since I can't drive it down.

Now I'm just taking one day at a time and doing what I can, which is not much for work that can be seen. But this definitely gives me time to rest, think, read and pray more, so that's very positive.

Prayers for a speedy recovery - Thank God it wasn't your wrist!

I am so sorry Diana!
I will keep you in my healing thoughts. I wanted to comment on how much I liked your beautiful 'Sparkle Marble' but couldn't find the actual post....

Thanks so much, Debbie, for your prayers. I'm thankful too, that it wasn't my wrist. I shattered my right one 7 years ago at this time of year falling off a ladder pruning fruit trees.

That was a lot worse than breaking an ankle. This is much less painful and I can still use my hands, but mobility is a real problem!

Thanks Marina. I've been posting some older pieces on DailyPainters lately since I haven't been able to paint.

You can see "Sparkle Marble" at this blog post: http://dianamosesbotkin.blogspot.com/search?q=sparkle+marble from 2/20/08.

Anytime you'd like to find a title at my blog (or other bloggers' sites) just enter the title in that little window on the top bar of the blogger page by where it says "SEARCH BLOG" and click on that label after you enter the title.

So glad to hear you like the marble. That was a fun series to paint!
