The area where I live is a glacial valley with surrounding mountains, which always makes for interesting landscape studies. The low angle light is wonderful too at our northern latitude.
Portraying the spaciousness of the valley was one of my chief challenges for this relatively small study. It would work even better as a really big painting!
Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint or draw most weekdays and often finish a painting a day. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.

It looks green but I can feel the winter cold blowing across that flat area. Very natural painting.
How beautiful. Diana, your work just gets more beautiful every day!
very nice simple little landscape. I like it.
Bill, Donna and Gary: Thanks for the kudos. It always encourages me to know you guys are out there in computer land enjoying my work. I've enjoyed exchanging comments with so many wonderful online artists. You guys are tops!
Bill: thanks for the winter reminder about the cold... gee.. just when I was really enjoying a little hot weather.
Diana, your blog is completely filled with top quality artwork, so I'm at a loss to comment on any one piece at this time!
Please be assured that I will return to check you out often!
Thank you, Dean. I felt the same way about your work. Blessings!
