Last weekend was the second annual Paint Out sponsored by the Scotchman Peaks Wilderness Society, and Outskirts Gallery in Hope, Idaho. I was able to take part on Sunday and paint this small study while sitting in the lovely sunshine by the lake marshes.
This piece "Bright Day at the Flats" was awarded a third place at the exhibition that evening at Outskirts Gallery. This was a pleasant surprise to me, especially considering all the lovely work produced during this event. There were many wonderful paintings from the weekend Paint Out which will be on view at the Outskirts Gallery for several weeks.
Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint or draw most weekdays and often finish a painting a day. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.

Congratulations on the award. It really is a beautiful work. Such a great sense of depth, and a nice rhythm to the composition.
Thanks, Dar.
Dianna I'm so behind on my emails that I'm just now looking at your OCT 1 post and saw your picture and award. NICE job (as usual). It was great to see the family here this past weekend and what a nice gift for Christa! You are definitely talented. Now to get you to capture an alpaca on canvas!
Blessings,
Deb
Thanks for dropping by, Deb! I'd love to paint some alpacas. Let's talk.
This one gets a huge WOW from me - fabulous, Diana! Good strong range of values, and that brilliant green just knocks my socks off.
Jana, thank you!
