Original oil painting on canvas 16"x12"
©2011 Diana Moses Botkin
A couple of months ago I took part in Art in the Making in Coeur d'Alene. A group of artists did live painting and drawing demos of live models for the public to enjoy.
One of our models was a nice looking young man, dressed in a hand-painted suit, hat, and red bow tie. He told me during a break that he is a drummer, which came to mind when I thinking of a title for this study.
I've been finishing up this oil painting the past few weeks, along with a few other projects, some of which you've seen on this blog lately. This one was especially interesting to complete: bringing the quick study I did from the live model to the point where personality and detail look more developed and convincing.
Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint or draw most weekdays and often finish a painting a day. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.
